While the charitable response to the Dec. 26 tsunami continues to make headlines around the globe, Observations in Philanthropy is looking deeper into some aspects of the story. Among the important developments: yesterday Congress approved legislation extending the time in which contributions toward the Southeast Asia disaster could be claimed for the 2004 tax year. The deadline for deductions for this purpose is now Jan. 31, 2005.
