Iowans could deduct from their 2004 state income taxes donations to southeast Asian tsunami and earthquake victims under legislation approved by the Iowa Senate today.

By a 49-0 vote, senators approved the measure that includes donations made after Dec. 31, 2004 and before Feb. 1, 2005 to any charitable organization specifically to help the December disaster's victims. "
