LONDON (Reuters) - The British appeal for countries hit by the Indian Ocean tsunami ends this weekend with people donating 300 million pounds and earning a place in the record books, the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) has said.
The appeal, ending on the two-month anniversary of the tsunami that struck on December26, has entered the Guinness Book of World Records for raising the most amount of money pledged in 24 hours over the Web - 10.6 million pounds."
