March 18 (Bloomberg) -- India, Sri Lanka, Indonesia and the Maldives still need $4.2 billion for reconstruction after the December tsunami that killed more than 270,000 people in 12 Indian Ocean countries, the Asian Development Bank said.
The funding gap is the difference between an estimated $7.8 billion the four countries need and the $3.5 billion pledged so far, according to the latest data released today by the ADB at a one-day tsunami reconstruction meeting at the bank's headquarters in the Philippine capital, Manila. "
