Debit and credit cards were used to pledge around �100 million of charitable donations in January, according to figures out today.
The jump of 207% in the value of charitable donations on cards compared to January 2004 was mainly in response to the Tsunami disaster, the Association for Payment Clearing Services (APACS) said."
