A Spanish design has been chosen for a tsunami memorial to be built in Thailand.

The design, which is entitled Mountain of Remembrance, and beat out four other bids from Finland, China, Australia and the United States.

The memorial will include five 30-metre high towers, inspired by Buddhist pagodas, a museum, an educational centre, a gift shop and a restaurant.

It will be built in a national park in Khao Lak within the next two years."
