Cindy GaNun tells everyone that her college-aged daughter, Jennifer, is going somewhere warm for spring break.

But her destination won't be the beaches of South Florida. Instead, she will travel to the beaches of South India with Nehemiah Thompson, pastor of her church, Wesley United Methodist Church in South Plainfield, to help children orphaned by the Dec. 26 tsunami.

Jennifer GaNun was attending church with her mother during Christmas break when she overheard Thompson telling the children how he would be traveling to his hometown in India's Kanya Kumari district, which was hit hard by the tsunami, to help establish a home for children orphaned in the disaster.

'I want to go with you,' she told him."
