As tsunami aid appeals wind down across the globe, the UN reveals so much more money is needed.
The total cost of reconstructing areas devastated by the Asian tsunami could be as high as $US12.5 billion ($A15.9 billion).
The United Nations' first overall estimate comes as charities around the world are closing their appeals because they believe enough money has been raised. But so far promises for only $US5.5 billion have been received."
